Karinya House is staffed twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, and provides intensive support to its residents to assist them access opportunities, develop life skills, and build confidence in their parenting abilities.
Karinya’s second house, named after founding Committee members Erin and Reg Mills, was opened in December 2003. Erin House was purchased by ACT Housing and is in the same Belconnen locality as Karinya. This second facility provides clients with a transition between the supported accommodation offered at Karinya, and independent living. Erin House is not independently staffed, however staff provide support as required from nearby Karinya House, giving clients the opportunity to develop their parenting skills, in an environment where advice and assistance is never far away.
