We recently interviewed Canberra Southern Cross Club, a major corporate partner, to share their connection to Karinya and why they choose to support us. ⬇️

How long have you been a supporter of KH?

The Canberra Southern Cross Club has been supporting Karinya House since 1998, which was the year after it was established.

What was the reason CSCC became a supporter of KH?

Karinya House provides much-needed support for vulnerable and at-risk pregnant and parenting women and is a valuable part of the Canberra Community. The impact that they have on not only the lives of women, but also the lives and future of children is what stands out for us. Through their various programs and support systems, the lives of many women and their children can be completely turned around, setting them up with skills, support and opportunities to have happy and successful lives.

What is your interpretation/observation of how KH supports mothers and babies in the Canberra community?

Karinya House provides accommodation, transitional housing and outreach services and support groups. Their programs allow thousands of vulnerable women and children to have the support and guidance they did to get through a difficult time.

How do you see the value of your contribution come to life with KH?

As our Community Partner, we know that our financial support allows Karinya House to continue it’s ‘Caseworker- Education Connection’ project. Through this program, Karinya House is able to provide early intervention and continuity of care to some of the most vulnerable people in our Canberra community.

This year we have dedicated our annual Family Fun Day to supporting Karinya House. Held on Sunday 22 September on the lawns of the Yacht Club, Family Fun Day is a great day out for all.

Our sincere gratitude to the Canberra Southern Cross Club, the Executive, Staff and all Club Members. Valued Friends! ????????????????
