Lindy Hou supporting Karinya House

Lindy Hou has a degenerative eye condition called Retinitis Pigmentosa. By 1996 she had become legally blind. For many people losing their sight would have meant the end of being involved in sports and life, not so for Lindy. She went on to win six medals in the 2004 and 2008 Paralympic Games.

Since her retirement from Paralympic cycling, Lindy has devoted her time to sharing her story in order to empower people of all ages. Lindy believes that she is a very fortunate person and as a motivational speaker, Lindy has inspired audiences across the world in places as diverse as China and Dubai, as well as in Australia.

Lindy enjoys working with people from diverse organisations and backgrounds. As the keynote speaker at conferences, presenter at training workshops and during her presentations to high school students, Lindy has made a real impact by sharing her life experiences and empowering her audiences to achieve their personal best.

In lieu of a speaker's fee, Lindy is asking guests at an upcoming event to support women in the Canberra Region by donating to Karinya House. We thank Lindy for her support and her inspiration.

Total donations to date: $170
