Dirt de Femme 2017 – Oh yes… it is on …
And this year the riders and sponsors of the Dirt De Femme can support a wonderful home-grown charity and support service for women in Canberra and the Region. Karinya House are delighted to be chosen as the charity partner for the 2017 Dirt de Femme to be held on 7 May 2017. Such a perfect match for Karinya House, who have their Annual Gala Dinner in May also, celebrating Mother’s Day and all that this can mean for women in our community. Often a time of great joy, celebration and thanksgiving, and also a time of sadness, loss and the celebration of resilience in the face of adversity. So this year ladies, put your cycle legs into gear, and get out and challenge yourself, enjoy the beauty of the our cycle tracks and along the way support women in our community who are impacted by the happenstance of life. You and your supporters can make a donation below and also contribute a note of cheerio to special women in your life.
Karinya House relies on direct donations from the community – individuals, families, businesses and corporates – for almost 50% of their annual operating income. Their fund raising target for 2016/2017 is $700,000. The ACT Government provide the remaining annual funding support. Every donation does make a difference and ensures that women receive individually tailored casework support through, what is, a life changing event. Karinya House provides supported accommodation, transitional housing and outreach services. You can read the 2015/2016 Annual Report for more information, as well as reviewing the rest of this wonderful website.

“This year we will once again give you the choice between two awesome courses (21km and 45km) designed to get your blood pumping in the unique fun-filled and supportive atmosphere that only DdF can deliver. Our course planners will provide you with a bit of challenge but will let you embrace the simple joy of riding through some of the best tracks in Canberra. We might be just providing a little extra entertainment and thrills on the track – Ohhh yes we have big plans…”
This fundraising event has ended. Thank you to all who participated.
