At the foundation of the Karinya House Strategic Plan 2021-2025 are our staff and volunteers.
Karinya House highly values the compassion and care they exhibit and the professional skills and experience they share.
Karinya House is committed to ethical and effective practice. Innovation and development in service excellence is achieved through practicing critical reflection, engaging with research and peer-based learning. Karinya House recognises that personal growth comes from life’s experiences and promotes ongoing personal and professional development for women, staff and volunteers. Practitioners exercise professional judgement within an organisation and policy context, complimented by professional supervision and ongoing evaluation and continued professional development. All staff and volunteers commit to the Karinya House Code of Conduct.
The average length of service of staff at Karinya is 7.5 years, with a number of staff having been involved in the organisation for over 10 years. Why work at Karinya House?
At Karinya House, we believe in making a difference for women in our community and for generations to come. We believe that every woman who is pregnant or parenting should be surrounded by care, compassion and the practical support she needs. We believe that, with the right support, every woman has the strength to make change in her life.
We are small, specialised and grass-roots. Working from a social justice perspective, we are non-aligned non-affiliated with religion or politics and do not judge. We enable and support; and treat our team as we would the women we walk alongside, recognising the unique skills of each member of our close-knit team. Our ideal candidate is respectful, caring, and flexible. If you are driven by impact, values and a desire to see change in your community – then Karinya House is the place for you.
