2025 Home. Hope. Horizon. Charity Appeal
Women who are pregnant and parenting experience higher rates of domestic and family violence, homelessness and poverty than almost any other cohort. This has impacts for women, their babies and children, our Canberra community and for generations to come. But pregnancy can also be a time of hope and change.
For over 27 years, Karinya House has had the privilege of walking alongside women who are experiencing crises, before, during and after pregnancy. Providing safe housing, health advice, casework, counselling, trauma services, baby goods and much more – we have supported over 2,800 women in Canberra since we began.
This unique charity is inspired by 27 powerful years of resilience and strength.
We invite you to invest in the lives of women with us and donate to the Home. Hope. Horizon. Charity Appeal.
This appeal was launched at the Home. Hope. Horizon. Charity Luncheon held on 2 May 2025 at the Hyatt Hotel. The aim of the event and the appeal is to gather to celebrate the women we walk alongside and raise a combined $150,000.
The event has raised close to $90,000. The Home. Hope. Horizon. Charity Appeal is aiming to raise the rest! All donations to this appeal up to $30,500 will be matched dollar for dollar.
The Principal Matched Giving Partner for this appeal, with our immense gratitude, is Parker Coles Curtis.
We thank and acknowledge the appeal Associate Partners – North Belconnen Community Association, Parbery, Elect Printing and BAL Lawyers and the appeal support partners –

We choose to May for many reasons. May is Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month. May encompasses Mother’s Day, and also Bereaved Mother’s Day, which at Karinya we recognise can be both days of celebration and challenging days for many. Other days occurring in May which have significance to Karinya are International Day for Midwives, International Day for Nurses, National Volunteers Week, National Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week.
