Accommodation

Residential accommodation may form part of a woman’s case management plan. Karinya House has four supported accommodation places, as well as seven semi-independent residences within our village.

Supported and/or semi-independent, transitional housing may be part of a woman’s case management plan. The value of Home and the sense of Home as being safe and secure is well recognised at Karinya House.

Karinya House has four supported accommodation places, as well as seven semi-independent residences within our village.

The supported accommodation residence is staffed 24/7. The onsite caseworker or overnight/weekend support staff work from a separate unit which shares an internal access door with the main living areas. Four bedrooms with three bathrooms and shared lived areas – full kitchen, laundry and recreational spaces – provide supported residential spaces for four women.

The semi-independent, transitional housing residences comprise three cottages (two bedrooms each) and four units (two bedrooms each).

Since its inception in 1997, accommodation services provided by Karinya House have always reflected respect and recognition.  Moving to the new and purpose built complex in 2016, the residential spaces at Karinya House are beautifully appointed and within a peaceful landscape.  Gardens and lawns, including a vege garden are maintained by volunteers, and with the foresight of one of our past long term gardeners, features beautiful flowering plants, including some magnificent roses, amidst the native landscape framing a space of tranquility.

Karinya House does not have external cleaning services.  Women in residence at Karinya are supported and encouraged in the care of their residential space, as are the staff and volunteer team on site in caring for the general areas of the complex.
